Update: Gothamist, in an interview with the band, declares the show definitely off the charts. I agree. In the interview the boys also explain how it happened that they never before played in Brooklyn.
Ended up with a free ticket to the first-ever Beastie Boys show in Brooklyn. And yes, they definitely played, “No Sleep til Brooklyn” — they called it the borough’s anthem. Really hard to believe that song has never been played live in Brooklyn before.
I took this video with my treo. It has Very Bad Sound. If you squint your eyes and pretend you’re really drunk, you might be able to pick out that they were singing, “No … Sleep … til Brooklyn.”
