Be sure to listen for the text moos.

I just got the mp3 of the interview that Jenny and I did on KROQ a few weeks ago. I wanted to write more about what the experience was like but it has been such a hassle getting this mp3 uploaded correctly due to trouble with the shared server that coryforsyth.com is hosted on that I’m just going to post the story surrounding the interview later.

Update: Ok, I’m done wrestling with the server and ready to write more about the interview. The first thing you should know is that I could hear almost nothing of what the radio people (and Jenny) were saying. Jenny and I are on separate coasts right now, and KROQ was only able to take *one* phone call at once on the air, so I had to use the three-way calling on my own cellphone to conference Jenny in after the guys at KROQ called me. Something about this setup made my end of the line really quiet. I think they must have turned up the gain a lot on my line so they could hear *me* (thus setting the stage for the text moos, more on that in a moment), but I didn’t have that option on my phone so I had to really concentrate to hear. Plus, I was hiding in the quietest room I could find in a kind of noisy office. So if you’re picturing me in this scenario, picture me stooped over in the bathroom with one hand jamming the phone up against my head and the other covering the opposite ear. I could barely hear a thing anyone was saying.

Anyway, since I had told a few friends ahead of time to listen in for the interview, I got a bunch of text messages during the interview. The texts made my phone buzz, and because they were amping the feed from my phone so much the buzzes sounded on the radio like the lowing of a cow. I had no idea they were audible to anyone but me. Listen for the awkward silence around 1:30 in when I finally figure out what’s going on and stammer on about getting texts on my phone. It cracks me up every time. Also, listen at 3:30 when the guy says “the cow is.” Priceless. (The “moo” at 3:30 was a text from my friend Mike saying “my text moo was on kroq!”)
