St. John, USVI: Green Turtle
This is a picture I took on Christmas day, 2006. I was snorkeling off the coast of Waterlemon Cay in St. John in the US Virgin Islands. I had an underwater enclosure for my digital camera so I snapped a bunch of photos while I was snorkeling. They all came out slightly cloudy and too blue, but Photoshop’s “auto levels” feature cleaned them up remarkably. It didn’t always do well with the dark areas, though, as seen here. I still like this picture; it looks to me as though the green turtle pictured is ascending through space to the heavens.

Beautiful! I might do USVI in March. Contrary to what you say above, the dark areas are the best part of the pic! Really frames it well.
