Skype’s magic disappearing credits

A few weeks ago John posted about his Skypeout credits expiring, and we were talking about it again this afternoon (I mentioned FuturePhone, which looks like a great skype alternative to me), and then this evening I check my email and see: “WARNING: Your Skype Credit expires in 10 days”.

You will loose [sic] your Skype Credit in 10 days, act now to keep your credit! This is a final reminder.

What’s the deal, Skype? Do you need to free up room in your database for someone else?

I found one of the disclaimers at the bottom kind of charming. It must be a translation from another language:

It is just a machine sending and receiving these emails, so please don’t reply.
